My go to for bass is the Dahlberg Diver with a Deer hair frog a close second but when they are not on the surface, it's a black eel made from a black (three schlapen palmered head with a couple of black or purple schlapen for a tail with about a 6-9 inch strip of shammy tied in as a tail) Fish this one just like a black rubber worm--works good in purple too.
For Gills my go to these days is a black and yellow ant/bee pattern with fine rubber legs cut short. _________________ der Alte Jäger

For bluegill, a cigarette butt tied on bare hook works wonders in the local ponds...

| For gills, an elk hair caddis works just fine. My favorite for pond bass is a Gartside Gurgler. |

The Bass Fly I described above also works well with a Rabbit Strip tail. I shave all but the last inch once tied in and make them in the vicinity of 6-9 inches long. Best color so far was a black rabbit strip palmered head with a deep purple tail. _________________ der Alte Jäger
