...and his now favorite breed, The Deutsch-Drahthaar, is on the cover of the new Orvis Dog Book. We knew the Deutsch-Drahthaar would point, retrieve, hunt anything wearing fur, hair or feathers, be a good companion, not eat the furniture or bite guests....but now the hairy mutts are out selling dog beds and upscale duds.

If we could elect 400 of them to Congress, we could save the Republic.

Mine's out in Iowa, with the trainer hunting quail. Then it's on to South Dakota for pheasant and then to Montana for sharptails.

If I didn't have this wedding thing to worry with, I'd be out there with her. She'll be back in September.

I'm visiting my pup this weekend. He'll return in September. Like Doug it will be the first season in a while where it's just me and a pup. Lots of Golden moments, lots of WHOA!, fun, lots WHOA! DAMN IT! and WHOA!!!!!! Cool
